Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and set aside.
In a skillet, cook the ground Italian sausage over medium heat until it’s no longer pink. Drain any excess fat.
Stir in the tomato sauce and Italian seasoning. Simmer for a few minutes to blend the flavors.
Unroll the crescent roll dough and press it into the bottom of the prepared baking dish, creating a crust.
Spread the sausage and tomato sauce mixture evenly over the dough.
Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the top of the casserole.
Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the crescent crust is golden brown.
