Grandma’s Molasses Fruitcake

Mix the batter ingredients together in a separate bowl until well combined.

Combine the fruit mixture with the batter and stir until everything is evenly distributed.

Pour the batter into the greased and floured loaf pan or round cake pan.

Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.

Once the fruitcake is done, remove it from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10-15 minutes. Then, transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

For optimal flavor, wrap the cooled fruitcake tightly in plastic wrap or foil and let it age for at least a couple of days before serving. This allows the flavors to meld and the cake to become moist and rich.
